Note: This feature is only available on mobile applications (iOS, Android, React Native) and web.
On CTV platforms, interactive features are not supported directly, but you can enable a second screen setup so viewers can participate from their phone while watching on TV.

Description

StreamLayer’s “intelligent” Watch Party has been built on top of our rich messaging platform. This feature enables viewers to enjoy the best live sports moments (or non-sports events) with their friends and family, without shrinking the screen or disrupting the viewing experience. Users can invite up to 8 friends who are authenticated users to watch together (though the platform is capable of increasing this number if so desired), in either portrait or landscape mode. 

Key features of the system are:

• Individual Parties (1 on 1)
• Group Parties (with many participants)
• Create a group message with participants in the Watch Party
• Game audio is reduced when on a call so users can hear other callers (ducking of audio, need to provide hooks for host app to react)
• Add people to Watch Party
• Allow people to drop from Watch Party without terminating call
• Call persistence even when app is placed in background
• Invite friends

StreamLayer’s proprietary rich messaging system is what makes StreamLayer Watch Parties “Intelligent,” meaning that the platform knows who the participants are, enabling enhancements like: shared gamification; celebrations; and celebrity guest appearances; and ultimately can be utilized to deploy alternative audio/video commentary feeds.
