Live Nonlinear Advertising
Understand live nonlinear ad formats and choose the StreamLayer integration guide for your CTV, mobile, or web application.
Live nonlinear ads appear alongside or over the video in the host app. For Studio-delivered ads, StreamLayer Studio configures the content and activation. For host-driven exposed ads, use the platform's exposed-ad API. The SDK renders the StreamLayer Element. The host app places the SDK UI and implements the player and layout callbacks required by its platform.
Choose a format
- Sidebar and L-bar: Reserve space beside or around the video. Follow the platform's layout instructions to resize and restore the player.
- Overlay and lower-third: Present an ad unit over part of the app's video area.
- Picture-in-picture and side-by-side: Coordinate the ad and content regions using the platform-specific player integration.
Available formats and callbacks depend on the SDK and release. Use the platform guide before choosing an implementation.

Configure and test content
Use StreamLayer Studio to prepare an event and ad content. Event Triggers can activate content from configured live-stat conditions; use limits to control frequency. Verify a test activation in your app, including dismissal and restoration of the player's layout.
Viewer-pause advertising has its own trigger and integration requirements. See Pause Ads.
